I wrote this book because I realized there
were no other books like this available. I
had a very difficult time with my "love"
feelings and rejection as a pre-teen and
teen and thought young girls may be
interested to read about the same to
reassure them the feelings are real,
important, and normal. Since I saved all
of my journaling from the time I started
keeping them including all of the poems
I'd written, I had ready material that just
needed revising.
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Iowa State University with
Honors and Distinction with the focus of my honors program being
creative writing. This means I was able to take writing courses,
including creative non-fiction and poetry, as my Humanities
requirements. As a Paralegal, I do extensive persuasive writing for
various position statements for clients and various other legal
documents. I have written as a hobby for nearly twenty-five years
including poetry, essays, fiction, humor, and non-fiction.
I am a wife and mother of two. I lead my daughter's Junior Girl Scout
Troop and am a member of the Midwest Writing Center. I also enjoy
walking and scrapbooking.
