From Poem, False Starts
We couldn't traverse the anger;
We couldn't navigate the pain.
We never got to see sunshine
After the rain.
We tried to write the novel
But were blocked at the start.
We couldn't persuade words to stay
So the book fell apart.
The words caught in our throats
When we tried to sing the song.
